Please join us in ending the hyper-violence in Mexico and the failed US “War on Drugs”

I’ve recently (January 2013) been working with Movimiento por la Paz con Justicia y Dignidad (MPJD) in Mexico City, meeting with fellow peace and justice activists and making important connections with peoples in Mexico, as well with peoples from the US and Canada, during MPJD’s recent 2013 Binacional Encuentro (January 25-27, 2013).

We’re all working together in order to stop the drug war hyper-violence in Mexico, as well as the drug war related violence in the US and we need your help….

He recientemente (enero de 2013) trabajando con el Movimiento por la Paz con Justicia y Dignidad (MPJD) en la Ciudad de México, cumpliendo con la paz y compañeros activistas de la justicia y hacer importantes conexiones con los pueblos de México, así como con los pueblos de los EE.UU. y Canadá, durante la reciente MPJD Encuentro Binacional 2013 (25 hasta 27 enero 2013).

Todos estamos trabajando juntos para poner fin a la guerra contra las drogas hiper-violencia en México, así como la violencia relacionada con la droga guerra en los EE.UU. y necesitamos su ayuda.

LEAP and MPJD Together at Bi-National Encounter in Mexico City

FBI – Marijuana: “Mexico is the number one foreign supplier of marijuana abused in the United States. In fact, according to a 2008 inter-agency report, marijuana is the top revenue generator for Mexican DTOs—a cash crop that finances corruption and the carnage of violence year after year. The profits derived from marijuana trafficking—an industry with minimal overhead costs, controlled entirely by the traffickers—are used not only to finance other drug enterprises by Mexico’s poly-drug cartels, but also to pay recurring “business” expenses, purchase weapons, and bribe corrupt officials. Though the GOM has a robust eradication program, many of the military personnel traditionally assigned to eradicate marijuana and opium poppy have recently been diverted to the offensive against the cartels.” (See: here) Continue reading
