It’s time to change the March for Life date to sometime in the spring

Blizzard 2016 has, I think, proven — once and for all — that the March for Life organizers need to choose a safer season for their event.

It’s time to change the March for Life date to sometime in the spring.

March for Life doesn’t have to be in January just because that’s when the court handed down the Roe v. Wade decision.

Thousands of teens travel by bus to Washington, DC every January for March for Life and it’s dangerous to be traveling during January, because of the potential for winter weather.

It’s irresponsible of the organizers of March for Life to schedule their event during a dangerous winter month.

The organizers know thousands of teens will be traveling to and from Washington, DC for this event and they need to begin taking responsibility for their safety by scheduling the event for sometime during the spring.

I hope the 2016 blizzard makes the organizers of March for Life re-think the January date, because they are putting people’s lives at risk.

I live in Pennsylvania and we knew Monday this storm was going to hit Friday night.

The March for Life folks played it off like “We’re not going to let the weather stop us!” but, in my opinion, during a blizzard of historic proportions, this is simply foolishness talking.

Dear March for Life:

Please change the date of your annual event to spring.

It will be safer for everyone when you do.

Thanks.
