Most of what we know about national and world events we know via the media — both alternative and mainstream. This experience of events is a mediated experience, and our knowledge of these events is a mediated knowledge — that is: it comes to us via sources other than our direct, personal experience of the world…. Just a happy turn of chance… Are you the kind that sees signs, that sees miracles? Or do you believe that people just get lucky?
