Nostra Aetate (4) is solemn nonsense, it makes no (Catholic) sense

“Proselytism is solemn nonsense, it makes no sense.” ~ “Pope” Francis (source)

“But Peter, standing with the eleven, lifted up his voice and addressed them:

“Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with mighty works and wonders and signs that God did through him in your midst, as you yourselves know— this Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men. God raised him up, loosing the pangs of death, because it was not possible for him to be held by it.

“Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.

“And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation.” So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls.” (Acts of the Apostles 2:14;22-24;37-41 source)

Prayer for the Conversion of the Remnant of Israel

“God of Goodness and Father of Mercies, we beseech Thee by the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and by the intercession of the Patriarchs and Holy Apostles, to look with compassion upon the remnant of Israel, so that they may come to a knowledge of our only Savior Jesus Christ, and share in the precious graces of Redemption. Amen.”

The Conversion of the Jews

“According to the interpretation of the Fathers, the conversion of the Jews towards the end of the world is foretold by St. Paul in the Epistle to the Romans (11:25-26): “For I would not have you ignorant, brethren, of this mystery, . . . that blindness in part has happened in Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles should come in. And so all Israel should be saved as it is written: There shall come out of Sion, he that shall deliver, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob“.

Object and doctrinal teaching of the First Gospel

Immediately after the descent of the Holy Ghost upon the Apostles, Peter preached that Jesus, crucified and risen, was the Messias, the Saviour of the World, and proved this assertion by relating the life, death, and resurrection of the Lord. This was the first Apostolic teaching, and was repeated by the other preachers of the Gospel, of whom tradition tells us that Matthew was one. This Evangelist proclaimed the Gospel to the Hebrews and, before his departure from Jerusalem, wrote in his mother tongue the Gospel that he had preached. Hence the aim of the Evangelist was primarily apologetic. He wished to demonstrate to his readers, whether these were converts or still unbelieving Jews, that in Jesus the ancient prophecies had been realized in their entirety. This thesis includes three principal ideas:

1. Jesus is the Messias, and the kingdom He inaugurates is the Messianic kingdom foretold by the prophets;

2. because of their sins, the Jews, as a nation, shall have no part in this kingdom

3. the Gospel will be announced to all nations, and all are called to salvation.

Jesus as Messias

St. Matthew has shown that in Jesus all the ancient prophesies on the Messias were fulfilled. He was the Emmanuel, born of a Virgin Mother (1:22-23), announced by Isaias (7:14); He was born at Bethlehem (ii, 6), as had been predicted by Micheas (v, 2), He went to Egypt and was recalled thence (ii, 15) as foretold by Osee (11:1). According to the prediction of Isaias (40:3), He was heralded by a precursor, John the Baptist (iii, 1 sqq.); He cured all the sick (viii, 16 so.), that the Prophecy of Isaias (53:4) might be fulfilled; and in all His actions He was indeed the same of whom this prophet had spoken (xiii, 1). His teaching in parables (13:3) was conformable to what Isaias had said (6:9). Finally, He suffered, and the entire drama of His Passion and Death was a fulfilment of the prophecies of Scripture (Isaiah 53:3-12; Psalm 21:13-22). Jesus proclaimed Himself the Messias by His approbation of Peter’s confession (16:16-17) and by His answer to the high priest (26:63-64). St. Matthew also endeavours to show that the Kingdom inaugurated by Jesus Christ is the Messianic Kingdom. From the beginning of His public life, Jesus proclaims that the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand (4:17); in the Sermon on the Mount He promulgates the charter of this kingdom, and in parables He speaks of its nature and conditions. In His answer to the envoys of John the Baptist Jesus specifically declares that the Messianic Kingdom, foretold by the Prophets, has come to pass, and He describes its characteristics: “The blind see, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead rise again, the poor have the gospel preached to them.” It was in these terms, that Isaias had described the future kingdom (35:5-6). St. Matthew records a very formal expression of the Lord concerning the coming of the Kingdom: “But if I by the Spirit of God cast out devils, then is the kingdom of God come upon you” (xii, 28). Moreover, Jesus could call Himself the Messias only inasmuch as the Kingdom of God had come.

Exclusion of Jews from Messianic Kingdom

The Jews as a nation were rejected because of their sins, and were to have no part in the Kingdom of Heaven. This rejection had been several times predicted by the prophets, and St. Matthew shows that it was because of its incredulity that Israel was excluded from the Kingdom, he dwells on all the events in which the increasing obduracy of the Jewish nation is conspicuous, manifested first in the princes and then in the hatred of the people who beseech Pilate to put Jesus to death. Thus the Jewish nation itself was accountable for its exclusion from the Messianic kingdom.

Universal Proclamation of the Gospel

That the pagans were called to salvation instead of the Jews, Jesus declared explicitly to the unbelieving Israelites: “Therefore I say to you that the kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and shall be given to a nation yielding the fruits thereof” (xxi, 43); “He that soweth the good seed, is the Son of man. And the field is the world” (xiii, 37-38). “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world for a testimony to all nations, and then shall the consummation come” (xxiv, 14). Finally, appearing to His Apostles in Galilee, Jesus gives them this supreme command: “All power is given to me in heaven and in earth. Going therefore, teach ye all nations” (xxviii 18, 19). These last words of Christ are the summary of the First Gospel. Efforts have been made to maintain that these words of Jesus, commanding that all nations be evangelized, were not authentic, but in a subsequent paragraph we shall prove that all the Lord’s sayings, recorded in the First Gospel, proceed from the teaching of Jesus.

Nostra Aetate (4) is solemn nonsense, it makes no (Catholic) sense

“Pope” Francis, who is living-out “the spirit” of Vatican II, and Saint Peter disagree concerning the Jews’ need to have the gospel proclaimed to them, so that they might convert to the Christian (i.e., Catholic) faith.

“Pope” Francis may be politically correct, but he’s not theologically correct; and neither is Vatican II, whose “spirit” is that of the unholy spirit of antichrist, which denies Christ.

The quote below, which is taken from the Vatican II document Nostra Aetate (4), regarding Holy Scripture and the Jews, is politically correct, but is not theologically and biblically correct:

“Although the Church is the new people of God, the Jews should not be presented as rejected or accursed by God, as if this followed from the Holy Scriptures.”

See: Nostra Aetate (4) –

Why is this sentence from Nostra Aetate (4) theologically and biblically incorrect?

Because (as we saw above): 1) Catholic theology teaches us to pray for — and seek the conversion of — those Jews who have been rejected by God; and 2) Holy Scripture tells us to do the same.

In fact, contrary to Nostra Aetate (4), Holy Scripture tells us the Jews are rejected and accursed by God:

Holy Scripture refers to unbelieving Jews as:

Disobedient (Romans 11:28-32)

Contrary (Romans 10:20-21)

Cursed (Galatians 3:10; 1 Corinthians 16:22)

Rejected (Romans 11:15)

Enemies (Romans 11:28-32)

Hardened (2 Corinthians 3:14-16)

Blinded (2 Corinthians 3:14-16)

Liars (1 John 2:22-23)

Displeasing (1 Thessalonians 2:14-16)

Fallen (Romans 11:20-22)

Cut Off (Romans 11:20-22)

Broken Off (Romans 11:20-22)

Ignorant (Romans 10:1-4)

Enslaved (2 Corinthians 3:14-16)

Failures (Romans 11:11-12)

Stumblers (Romans 11:11-12)

Trespassers  (Romans 11:11-12)

Scoffers (Acts 13:38-43)

Antichrists (1 John 2:22-23)

Desolate (Matthew 23:37-38)

Destroyed (Mark 12:9)

Betrayers (Acts 7:51-53)

Murderers (Acts 5:30-31; Acts 7:51-53)

Deniers (1 John 2:22-23)

Opposers (1 Thessalonians 2:14-16)

Stiff-necked (Acts 7:51-53)

Revilers (Acts 18:5-6)

Unworthy (Acts 13:44-50)

Mind Poisoners (Acts 14:1-2)

Jealous (Romans 10:19; Acts 13:44-50)

Murderous Conspirators (Acts 23:12-14)

Angry (Romans 10:19)

Devil’s Children (John 8:34-38; 8:39-47)

Attackers (Acts 17:4-5; Acts 18:12-13)

Stubborn (Acts 19:8-9)

Evil Speakers (Acts 19:8-9)

Persecutors (Acts 26:9-11)

Raging (Acts 26:9-11)

Furious (Acts 26:9-11)

The statement in Nostra Aetate (4), which is contrary to Holy Scripture and Catholic theology, was not an oversight made by the Vatican II Council. It was, instead, an intentionally formulated and promulgated false teaching of the Vatican II Robber Council, which is contrary to Catholic theology, tradition, and Holy Scripture. This false teaching from the apostate Vatican hierarchy has been foisted upon unsuspecting (theologically and biblically illiterate) Catholics in order to accommodate unbelieving Jews:

“Section four of Nostra Aetate repudiates the centuries-old “deicide” charge against all Jews, stresses the religious bond shared by Jews and Catholics, reaffirms the eternal covenant between God and the People of Israel, and dismisses church interest in trying to baptize Jews.”

Source: ADL – Nostra Aetate: What is it? –

In short, Nostra Aetate (4) is pleasing to unbelieving Jews, apostate Vatican prelates, and ignorant Catholic priests and laypersons; but is displeasing to all Catholics who know better, and is especially displeasing to God.

Contra Nostra Aetate (4), Holy Scripture teaches that unbelieving Jews (and Gentiles) are rejected and accursed by God, which is why Saint Peter proclaimed the gospel to the Jews in Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2) commanding them to repent, believe in Christ (= Messiah) and be baptized. This is known as: proselytism.

The wonderful truth of the gospel — that God is offering Jews (and Gentiles) the opportunity of grace, repentance, faith in Christ, baptism into the New Covenant, and forgiveness of sins — does not negate God’s promise to the Jews. On the contrary, God’s rejection of unbelieving Jews has established the way of salvation for all nations: faith in Jesus Christ.

The gospel of grace goes first and foremost to the Jews!

Nostra Aetate (4) is an evil teaching from a pretend “Church” in which the Vatican ordered all Catholics to feign love for the Jews by refusing to tell them the truth in love.

Feigned love isn’t love; it’s hate disguised as love.

All Jews need to be told their Messiah has come; that his name is Jesus; that they need to avail themselves of God’s grace, repent of their sins, place their faith in the risen Christ, be baptized, and have their sins forgiven — every one of them.

AUDIO – Nostra Aetate: What It Really Is (with E. Michael Jones) –

The Truth Will Set You Free

“So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” They answered him, “We are offspring of Abraham and have never been enslaved to anyone. How is it that you say, ‘You will become free’?”

“Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. I know that you are offspring of Abraham; yet you seek to kill me because my word finds no place in you. I speak of what I have seen with my Father, and you do what you have heard from your father.”

You Are of Your Father the Devil

They answered him, “Abraham is our father.” Jesus said to them, “If you were Abraham’s children, you would be doing the works Abraham did, but now you seek to kill me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God. This is not what Abraham did. You are doing the works your father did.” They said to him, “We were not born of sexual immorality. We have one Father—even God.” Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and I am here. I came not of my own accord, but he sent me. Why do you not understand what I say? It is because you cannot bear to hear my word. You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies. But because I tell the truth, you do not believe me. Which one of you convicts me of sin? If I tell the truth, why do you not believe me? Whoever is of God hears the words of God. The reason why you do not hear them is that you are not of God.” ~ Saint John (John 8:31-47)

God’s Sovereign Choice

“I am speaking the truth in Christ—I am not lying; my conscience bears me witness in the Holy Spirit— that I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart. For I could wish that I myself were accursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my brothers, my kinsmen according to the flesh. They are Israelites, and to them belong the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the worship, and the promises. To them belong the patriarchs, and from their race, according to the flesh, is the Christ who is God over all, blessed forever. Amen.

“But it is not as though the word of God has failed. For not all who are descended from Israel belong to Israel, and not all are children of Abraham because they are his offspring, but “Through Isaac shall your offspring be named.” This means that it is not the children of the flesh who are the children of God, but the children of the promise are counted as offspring.” ~ Saint Paul (Romans 9:1-8)

“What if God, desiring to show his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, in order to make known the riches of his glory for vessels of mercy, which he has prepared beforehand for glory— even us whom he has called, not from the Jews only but also from the Gentiles? As indeed he says in Hosea,

“Those who were not my people I will call ‘my people,’ and her who was not beloved I will call ‘beloved.’”

“And in the very place where it was said to them, ‘You are not my people,’ there they will be called ‘sons of the living God.’”

“And Isaiah cries out concerning Israel: “Though the number of the sons of Israel be as the sand of the sea, only a remnant of them will be saved, for the Lord will carry out his sentence upon the earth fully and without delay.” And as Isaiah predicted,

“If the Lord of hosts had not left us offspring, we would have been like Sodom and become like Gomorrah.” ~ Saint Paul (Romans 9:22-29)

Israel’s Unbelief

“What shall we say, then? That Gentiles who did not pursue righteousness have attained it, that is, a righteousness that is by faith; but that Israel who pursued a law that would lead to righteousness did not succeed in reaching that law. Why? Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as if it were based on works. They have stumbled over the stumbling stone, as it is written,

“Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense;
and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.” ~ Saint Paul (Romans 9:30-33)

“Brothers, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for them is that they may be saved. For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. For, being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.” ~ Saint Paul (Romans 10:1-4)

The Message of Salvation to All

“For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him.For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

“How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?” So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

“But I ask, have they not heard? Indeed they have, for

“Their voice has gone out to all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world.”

“But I ask, did Israel not understand? First Moses says,

“I will make you jealous of those who are not a nation; with a foolish nation I will make you angry.”

“Then Isaiah is so bold as to say,

“I have been found by those who did not seek me; I have shown myself to those who did not ask for me.”

“But of Israel he says, “All day long I have held out my hands to a disobedient and contrary people.” ~ Saint Paul (Romans 10:12-21)

The Remnant of Israel

“I ask, then, has God rejected his people? By no means! For I myself am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, a member of the tribe of Benjamin. God has not rejected his people whom he foreknew. Do you not know what the Scripture says of Elijah, how he appeals to God against Israel? “Lord, they have killed your prophets, they have demolished your altars, and I alone am left, and they seek my life.” But what is God’s reply to him? “I have kept for myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.” So too at the present time there is a remnant, chosen by grace. But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works; otherwise grace would no longer be grace.

“What then? Israel failed to obtain what it was seeking. The elect obtained it, but the rest were hardened, as it is written,

“God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that would not see and ears that would not hear,
down to this very day.” ~ Saint Paul (Romans 11:1-8)

Gentiles Grafted In

“So I ask, did they stumble in order that they might fall? By no means! Rather through their trespass salvation has come to the Gentiles, so as to make Israel jealous. Now if their trespass means riches for the world, and if their failure means riches for the Gentiles, how much more will their full inclusion mean!” ~ Saint Paul (Romans 11:11-12)

The Mystery of Israel’s Salvation

“Lest you be wise in your own sight, I want you to understand this mystery, brothers: a partial hardening has come upon Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.

“And in this way all Israel will be saved, as it is written,

“The Deliverer will come from Zion, he will banish ungodliness from Jacob”; “and this will be my covenant with them when I take away their sins.”

“As regards the gospel, they are enemies of God for your sake. But as regards election, they are beloved for the sake of their forefathers. For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. For just as you were at one time disobedient to God but now have received mercy because of their disobedience, so they too have now been disobedient in order that by the mercy shown to you they also may now receive mercy. For God has consigned all to disobedience, that he may have mercy on all.” ~ Saint Paul (Romans 11:25-32)

Amen.”

Novelty, Error, and Double-Speak: Post-Vatican II Catholic-Jewish Relations

USCCB – Guidelines for Catholic-Jewish Relations – 1985 Revision

“Proselytism, which does not respect human freedom, is carefully to be avoided. While the Christian, through the faith life of word and deed, will always witness to Jesus as the risen Christ, the dialogue is concerned with the permanent vocation of the Jews as God’s people, the enduring values that Judaism shares with Christianity and that, together, the Church and the Jewish people are called upon to witness to the whole world.” (6)

Reflections on Covenant and Mission

“In a remarkable and still most pertinent study paper presented at the sixth meeting of the International Catholic-Jewish Liaison Committee in Venice twenty-five years ago, Professor Tommaso Federici examined the missiological implications of Nostra Aetate.

“He argued on historical and theological grounds that there should be in the Church no organizations of any kind dedicated to the conversion of Jews. This has over the ensuing years been the de facto practice of the Catholic Church.

“More recently, Cardinal Walter Kasper, president of the Pontifical Commission for the Religious Relations with the Jews, explained this practice. In a formal statement made first at the 17th meeting of the International Catholic-Jewish Liaison Committee in May 2001, and repeated later in the year in Jerusalem, Cardinal Kasper spoke of “mission” in a narrow sense to mean “proclamation” or the invitation to baptism and catechesis. He showed why such initiatives are not appropriately directed at Jews:

“The term mission, in its proper sense, refers to conversion from false gods and idols to the true and one God, who revealed himself in the salvation history with His elected people. Thus mission, in this strict sense, cannot be used with regard to Jews, who believe in the true and one God. Therefore, and this is characteristic, there exists dialogue but there does not exist any Catholic missionary organization for Jews

Source: Reflections on Covenant and Mission (emphasis added) –

“Reflections on Covenant and Mission, however, renders even the possibility of individual conversion doubtful by a further statement that implies it is generally not good for Jews to convert, nor for Catholics to do anything that might lead Jews to conversion because it threatens to eliminate “the distinctive Jewish witness”: “Their [the Jewish people’s] witness to the kingdom, which did not originate with the Church’s experience of Christ crucified and raised, must not be curtailed by seeking the conversion of the Jewish people to Christianity.” Some caution should be introduced here, since this line of reasoning could lead some to conclude mistakenly that Jews have an obligation not to become Christian and that the Church has a corresponding obligation not to baptize Jews.”

“Section four of Nostra Aetate repudiates the centuries-old “deicide” charge against all Jews, stresses the religious bond shared by Jews and Catholics, reaffirms the eternal covenant between God and the People of Israel, and dismisses church interest in trying to baptize Jews.”

Pope Francis - Hidden Hand

Proselytism is Solemn Nonsense?

“Proselytism is solemn nonsense, it makes no sense.” ~ “Pope” Francis

Source: The Pope: how the Church will change –

Full Definition of PROSELYTIZE (intransitive verb)

1: to induce someone to convert to one’s faith

2: to recruit someone to join one’s party, institution, or cause

3: to recruit or convert especially to a new faith, institution, or cause

Pros·e·ly·tism (noun \ˈprä-sə-ˌlī-ˌti-zəm, ˈprä-s(ə-)lə-\)

1: the act of becoming or condition of being a proselyteconversion

2: the act or process of proselytizing

proselytize copy

The Vatican and “Pope” Francis have given the word “proselytism” a meaning contrary to that found in the dictionary, and contrary to the common usage of the word. To the Vatican and “Pope” Francis, the word “proselytism” means: “sheep stealing”, which means: encouraging members of one church to join another church. By using this novel definition, the Vatican prelates are telling Catholics that, for all practical purposes, Jews and Catholics practice the same religion — a new religion, which is contrary to the religion of the Catholic Church since the time of Christ.

Following Nostra Aetate, the Post-Vatican II “Church” believes Jewish synagogues and Catholic churches form one (Judeo-Masonic) religious group; therefore it’s wrong for someone to proselytize members of the Jewish synagogue by encouraging them to join the Catholic Church, which is “sheep stealing” or “proselytism”.

“Sheep stealing” means (for example): encouraging a member of one Lutheran church to join another Lutheran church, encouraging a member of one Baptist church to join another Baptist church.

In the case of Jews, Catholics, and Nostra Aetate, “sheep stealing” means: encouraging a member of the Jewish synagogue to convert to the Catholic faith, which, in reality, is “proselytism”, and not “sheep stealing”.

Lutherans don’t need to convert Lutherans… Baptists don’t need to convert Baptists… and… apparently… Catholics aren’t allowed to convert Jews.

Conservative Novus Ordo defender Jimmy Akin’s attempt to explain away “Pope” Francis’ clear statement: “Proselytism is solemn nonsense, it makes no sense”:

“Does Pope Francis’s statements regarding proselytization mean that he believes we should not evangelize or convert people?

“No. Pope Francis has an extremely clear focus on evangelization.”

Novus Ordo Watch explains “Pope” Francis’ clear statement: “Proselytism is solemn nonsense, it makes no sense”:

“Quite conveniently, Francis denounces proselytizing but without defining it. This will allow him – and, more importantly, his defenders – to claim later that he was simply “misunderstood.” Modernism thrives on vague and ambiguous expressions, on lack of precision, on lack of clear definitions, because Modernism, being sinister, detests clarity, which is one of the hallmarks of truth and orthodoxy: “For every one that doth evil hateth the light, and cometh not to the light, that his works may not be reproved” (John 3:20). Modernism seeks to make what is certain, doubtful, what is clear, confusing; it tries to make the straight paths of True Catholicism crooked, and so becomes the anti-Gospel.”

Ecumenism – Syncretism and Indifferentism Repackaged

“At the heart of the [post-Vatican II] Novus Ordo Church there is Ecumenism, a set of heretical and impious practices and beliefs that–officially–aims to bring about “unity” among all those who claim the name of “Christian.” While this sounds like a noble and pious goal, the Catholic Church has always taught that the only way to bring about true religious unity is by non-Catholics converting to Catholicism, for only the Catholic Church is the true and only Church founded by the Lord Jesus Christ, and only the Catholic Church is the Ark of Salvation, outside of which no one can be saved. The Catholic Church has always issued strong rebukes against ecumenical ventures (Popes Pius IX, Leo XIII, St. Pius X, Pius XI, and Pius XII come to mind in particular), warning the faithful that such things lead to the ruin of souls. Now that the Novus Ordo Church has eclipsed the Catholic Church since 1958, and by looking at what has taken place since then, we can see in practice just how bad ecumenism is, what fruits it has wrought, and why the Catholic Church is so adamantly opposed to it.”

False Accusations + Demonization = Ostracism

Definition of OSTRACISM

1: a method of temporary banishment by popular vote without trial or special accusation practiced in ancient Greece

2: exclusion by general consent from common privileges or social acceptance

Southern Poverty Law Center – Radical Traditional Catholicism

“Radical traditionalist” Catholics, who may make up the largest single group of serious anti-Semites in America, subscribe to an ideology that is rejected by the Vatican and some 70 million mainstream American Catholics. Many of their leaders have been condemned and even excommunicated by the official church.

“Adherents of radical traditional Catholicism, or “integrism,” routinely pillory Jews as “the perpetual enemy of Christ” and worse, reject the ecumenical efforts of the Vatican, and sometimes even assert that recent popes have all been illegitimate. They are incensed by the liberalizing reforms of the 1962-65 Second Vatican Council, which condemned hatred for the Jews and rejected the accusation that Jews are collectively responsible for deicide in the form of the crucifixion of Christ.

“Radical traditionalists are not the same as Catholics who call themselves “traditionalists” — people who prefer the old Latin Mass to the mass now typically said in vernacular languages — although the radicals, as well, like their liturgy in Latin. They also embrace extremely conservative social ideals with respect to women.”

One Response to Nostra Aetate (4) is solemn nonsense, it makes no (Catholic) sense

  1. Joshua says:

Very informative and well referenced article. It seems that if one wishes to know who is behind Vatican 2 one needs to find who benefits most from it. Nostra Aetate shows that it is the Jews who most benefit- they get a free pass from being bothered by pesky Catholics and their proselytizing ways. Thank you for this article.
