“And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers”

“For God has not given us a spirit of fearfulness, but one of power, love, and sound judgment.” ~ Saint Paul ( Timothy 1:7)

Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God” ~ Jesus Christ (Matthew 5:9)

“And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ” ~ Saint Paul (Ephesians 4:11)

If you Google: “do apostles and prophets exist today” you will find a slew of articles explaining away the truth of what Saint Paul says in the passage quoted above: that God has given the Church apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers.

imagen_profetasThe modern “Christian” has no problem with the Church having evangelists, pastors and teachers, today, but have a REAL PROBLEM accepting the teaching of Saint Paul, and thus the Bible, regarding the Church’s also having apostles and prophets today, even though, obviously, Saint Paul, and the Bible, are correct: God gave the Church all of these offices, or callings, the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: “Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ”, which will be until Christ returns to judge the living and the dead, despite what most self-professed, Bible-denying modern-day “Christians say:

biblia-sagrada“And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.” ~ Saint Paul (Ephesians 4:11-16)

It’s quite shameful how, when the Bible contradicts our traditions, and our liking, we’ll reject and twist the words of Holy Scripture in order to make them more palatable to our modern sensibilities. The very opposite of what we, as students of the Bible, are supposed to do, which is to line our thinking and beliefs up to – and not contrary to – Holy Scripture.

It’s very important to know one’s calling, or vocation, and Saint Paul tells us, here, there are four (or five?) distinct and important vocations to which the Holy Spirit can call us, which are for the work of the ministry and for the edification of the Church, that we all might, over time, become more like Christ, which is the ultimate goal of the Christian.

How dare anyone say two of these vocations – apostles and prophets – no longer exists!

But, sadly, many do just this.

I’ll stick with what Saint Paul said, and with what the Bible says, thanks!

propheta de diosMy calling and vocation is that of a prophet, which is to speak truth and justice to the peoples, especially to the peoples in our evil, Satanic government. And like John the Baptist, Jesus, and the apostles, I’ve been arrested, in chains, and jailed because of doing so.

So please don’t tell me prophets don’t exist today, because the Bible and Saint Paul tell us – clearly and plainly – they do and will exist, for as long as the church militant is upon the earth and peoples in the Church are growing in Christ, which will be until Christ returns to judge the living and the dead, and to reward all peoples according to their works, whether they be good or evil.

Notice the many peoples, below, whom Jesus speaks of, who ,although they were certain there were “Christians”, discovered (too late) they were not, and were cast into eternal flames, which were prepared for the devil and his angels…

Jesus-The-Teacher“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” ~ Jesus Christ (Matthew 7:21-23)

“When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?

Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.” ~ Jesus Christ (Matthew 25:31-46)

My being a prophet is and has been rather obvious to me for quite some time now, although this was not always the case. Plus I don’t run around telling people this for two reasons: 1) too many so-called “Christians” reject what Saint Paul said; and 2) these and other unbelievers would consider me crazy.

But think about it…

Why else would I be in trouble with the US government – and the Church(!) – now, simply for proclaiming the truth, and calling for justice, and peace? Why else would I be in Mexico now, sleeping in front of church edificios and wherever else I might find a space for the night, working with my fellow laborers for truth, justice, and peace? Why else would I be organizing a movement in the US for truth, justice, and peace? What other reason is there for so many peoples who call themselves “Christians” and “Catholics” in the US for rejecting the message God has given me, which is to call them to repentance for not following Christ’s command for his followers to be peacemakers as opposed to their being Neocon, US-NATO supporting, Romney supporting, unjust warmongers?

If I were like them, they would receive me. If I proclaimed their Satanic fear mongered and politically motivated unjust warmongering message they would not reject me, because I would be one of them. But as things are, I am not, because I am following the Holy Spirit and the only begotten Son of God, who is risen from the dead, and who defeated sin, Satan, death, hell and the grave 2,000 years ago. The One who is calling us to be peacemakers, and to repent of our unbelief and our unjust warmongering.

Anyways, I hope you see my, Saint Paul’s, and the Bible’s point, here, and that you don’t try to explain it aways, as so many do.

“Do you not know what the Scripture says of Elijah, how he appeals to God against Israel? ‘Lord, they have killed your prophets, they have demolished your altars, and I alone am left, and they seek my life.’ But what is God’s reply to him? ‘I have kept for myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.’ So too at the present time there is a remnant, chosen by grace.” ~ Saint Paul (Romans 11:2-5)

“But the angel said to him, ‘Do not be afraid, Zechariah, for your prayer has been heard, and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John. And you will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth, for he will be great before the Lord. And he must not drink wine or strong drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb. And he will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God, and he will go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready for the Lord a people prepared.’” ~ Luke 1:13-17

“In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea, ‘Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah when he said,

‘The voice of one crying in the wilderness:‘Prepare the way of the Lord; make his paths straight.’

Now John wore a garment of camel’s hair and a leather belt around his waist, and his food was locusts and wild honey. Then Jerusalem and all Judea and all the region about the Jordan were going out to him, and they were baptized by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins.

But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, ‘You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Bear fruit in keeping with repentance. And do not presume to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father,’ for I tell you, God is able from these stones to raise up children for Abraham. Even now the axe is laid to the root of the trees. Every tree therefore that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

‘I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor and gather his wheat into the barn, but the chaff he will burn with unquenchable fire.’” ~ Matthew 3:1-12

“At that time Herod the tetrarch heard about the fame of Jesus, and he said to his servants, “This is John the Baptist. He has been raised from the dead; that is why these miraculous powers are at work in him.” For Herod had seized John and bound him and put him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife, because John had been saying to him, “It is not lawful for you to have her.” And though he wanted to put him to death, he feared the people, because they held him to be a prophet. But when Herod’s birthday came, the daughter of Herodias danced before the company and pleased Herod, so that he promised with an oath to give her whatever she might ask. Prompted by her mother, she said, “Give me the head of John the Baptist here on a platter.” And the king was sorry, but because of his oaths and his guests he commanded it to be given. He sent and had John beheaded in the prison, and his head was brought on a platter and given to the girl, and she brought it to her mother. And his disciples came and took the body and buried it, and they went and told Jesus.” ~ Matthew 14:1-12
