How many Americans believe their government has space-based laser weapons?
How many Americans who don’t believe this, because their government has never told them this (on television), would refuse to believe this even when presented with evidence their government does in fact have such weapons?
Stupid is as stupid does.
I lived in El Paso, Texas from 1985-1988 and one of the jobs I worked while living there was being a delivery driver for Emery Worldwide, which was an air cargo business; the first in the US, in fact. Our motto was: “If we can fit it into the plane we can deliver it overnight” (this was also the early days of the up-start Federal Express, which delivered only letters (we delivered letters too, as a side thing, since we were delivering tons of freight per flight anyways).
I was assigned to the Las Cruces, New Mexico route, meaning I was at the airport at 6 am each morning (except Sundays) and wasn’t back and off duty until around 7 pm each night (I worked for a contract carrier Emery used (E&D Services of El Paso) and was paid by the day rather than by the hour).
The US Army’s White Sands Missile Range is near Las Cruces and was on my route as well, as was the High Energy Laser Systems Test Facility (HELSTF), which was located downrange of the WSMR firing line, and was a highly secure site guarded by men with automatic weapons.
I usually delivered to the guys with Hughes Aircraft, and would see them about every other day or so. Being downrange, as HELSTF was, we would occasionally be required to seek shelter underground whenever someone on the firing line at WSMR was firing a missile, because, obviously, being downrange, such missiles could have landed right on top of HELSTF and underground was the safest place for us to be at such times.
All the scientists working there were working on developing directed energy weapons for the DoD, which are very much like the phasers Star Trek’s USS Enterprise is armed with (I’m not sure where the transporter project might be located).
Needless to say, directed energy weapons and the space platforms armed with them are not things I read about in a book, or online, but a DoD project I actually did my small part in (=delivery) in order to help create. (I once delivered the most perfect mirror that can be manufactured on earth (from Germany, Austria, or Switzerland I think) which got the attention of every scientist at HELSTF, which was the only time all the scientists ever came out to meet me and my delivery van in order to “oh and ah” over their new mirror, which they were very excited about).
All of this is real, and not some “conspiracy theory”; and whoever doubts this fact is, to me, just plain stupid.
Our tax dollars have paid for this and the space-based directed energy weapons systems are in place now. Why the USG will not make this public knowledge I do not know, although I think it concerns an old treaty the USG had signed years ago promising never to do what they have now done, and they don’t want to admit to having violating this treaty. Although with NATO having violated its treaty in order to attack various and sundry nations around the globe without provocation, I don’t know why, at this point (the motto of the USG being “Do what thou will”) the USG would give a flying fuck about their having violated some old space weapons ban.
One look at HELSTF’s logo tells us all we need to know about what DoD was doing at HELSTF.
