There is NEVER a LEGITIMATE reason for KILLING an INNOCENT human being… and I am not going to debate the meaning of the word “HUMAN BEING”… a human child in her mother’s womb IS a human being. Period. It is EVIL to abuse animals, it is EVIL to abuse plants, and it is EVIL to GO AGAINST NATURE by RIPPING OUT of the HEALTHY womb of a HEALTHY mother the HEALTHY, GROWING child…or POISONING the HEALTHY child SO THAT SHE DIES and is EXPELLED as so much WASTE from the healthy woman’s body… IF she survives the DANGEROUS AND UNNATURAL procedure.
As Hippocrates said: “I will not give to a woman an abortive remedy. In purity and holiness I will guard my life and my art.”
RULE #1 = DO NO HARM – ABORTION = HARM
All of us were children in the womb once, and none of us asked to be born. Now we must all be children in the womb again, so that we might stand up and be a voice for the voiceless children now living in their mother’s wombs today. They have not asked to be born either, but they have been conceived and they are here nevertheless. What we must do now is protect them from harm so that they, too. – like us – can be born and live the lives they have already been given.
“You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” ~ Leviticus 19.18 (=Judaism)
“Do to others as you would have them do to you.” ~ Jesus Christ (=Christianity – Luke 6:31)
“Love, and do what you will.” ~ Saint Augustine
“Not one of you is a believer until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself.” ~ Forty Hadith of an-Nawawi (=Islam)
“An it harm none, do what ye will.” ~ Wiccan Rede
“A man should wander about treating all creatures as he himself would be treated.” ~ (=Jainism) Sutrakritanga (1.11.33)
“Try your best to treat others as you would wish to be treated yourself, and you will find that this is the shortest way to benevolence.” ~ Confucius (Mencius VII.A.4)
“One should not behave towards others in a way which is disagreeable to oneself. This is the essence of morality. All other activities are due to selfish desire.” ~ Mahabharata (=Hinduism – Anusasana Parva 113.8)
I’m afraid that, regarding abortion, or “choice”, many (most?) of my “progressive” friends have done what the late Dr. King warned us about: they have become apathetic regarding the issue of abortion on demand. They have adopted, without thinking, critically, the US government’s and the media’s status quo policy of: legalized abortion on demand, and they harbor this evil, brutal, and murderous conformist thought – “choice” – within their own bosoms.
One of the reason I love my progressive friends is that, EXCEPT for this ONE issue, the are ALL FOR an ENDING the wars, economic exploitation, the depredation of the planet, Monsanto and GMO “foods”, as well as EVERY OTHER progressive cause, because they, like me, want to create a better world for our children and grandchildren.
My question to them is: “Why do you persist in defending – seemingly to the death – your unjust, hyper-conservative, bloody, morally bankrupt, political position that EVERY WOMAN in America be FOREVER locked-into ONE US Supreme Court decision, which was made in 1973, BY NINE OLD MEN?”
And “Why do you think it’s a CHOICE for a woman to hire someone to CUT TO PIECES or to POISON a healthy, growing child when you would NEVER allow someone to CHOSE to CUT TO PIECES or to POISON a healthy animal or plant?”
“I agree with Dante, that the hottest places in hell are reserved for those who in a period of moral crisis maintain their neutrality. There comes a time when silence becomes betrayal.” ~ Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
“Choice” = maintaining neutrality during a time of moral crisis: legalized abortion on demand.
“Period of moral crisis” = over 50,000,000 DEAD innocent children since 1973.
“The truth of these words is beyond doubt, but the mission to which they call us is a most difficult one. Even when pressed by the demands of inner truth, men do not easily assume the task of opposing their government’s policy, especially in time of war. Nor does the human spirit move without great difficulty against all the apathy of conformist thought within one’s own bosom and in the surrounding world. Moreover, when the issues at hand seem as perplexing, as they often do in the case of this dreadful conflict, we’re always on the verge of being mesmerized by uncertainty. But we must move on. Some of us who have already begun to break the silence of the night have found that the calling to speak is often a vocation of agony. But we must speak. We must speak with all the humility that is appropriate to our limited vision, but we must speak. And we must rejoice as well, for in all our history there has never been such a monumental dissent during a war, by the American people.” ~ MLK
“There can be no true democracy without a recognition of every person’s dignity and without respect for his or her rights.
Nor can there be true peace unless life is defended and promoted. As Paul VI pointed out: ‘Every crime against life is an attack on peace, especially if it strikes at the moral conduct of people… But where human rights are truly professed and publicly recognized and defended, peace becomes the joyful and operative climate of life in society’.
The ‘people of life’ rejoices in being able to share its commitment with so many others. Thus may the ‘people for life’ constantly grow in number and may a new culture of love and solidarity develop for the true good of the whole of human society. ~ John Paul II (EVANGELIUM VITAE (The Gospel of Life)
