Why would any group wish for America to become another Egypt? Or for Washington, DC’s Freedom Plaza to become “our Tahrir Square”? Have we been paying attention to what happened in Egypt and Tahrir Square? What happened was violence, riots, and killings, which have resulted in the Egyptian peoples’ having gotten a military dictatorship. Yet THIS is precisely what Stop The Machine! intends . . .
“We are the ones who can create a new and just world. Our issues are connected. We are connected. Join us in Washington, D.C., on Oct. 6, 2011, to Stop the Machine.”
“Take the pledge and sign up to attend here. Let America know you are coming to make history and a new world!”
“I pledge that if any U.S. troops, contractors, or mercenaries remain in Afghanistan on Thursday, October 6, 2011, as that occupation goes into its 11th year, I will commit to being in Freedom Plaza in Washington, D.C., with others on that day with the intention of making it our Tahrir Square, Cairo, our Madison, Wisconsin, where we will NONVIOLENTLY resist the corporate machine to demand that our resources are invested in human needs and environmental protection instead of war and exploitation. We can do this together. We will be the beginning.” See: http://october2011.org/pledge
Have you seen the nonsense “actions” these Stop The Machine! cats have been involved in? Professional, controlled opposition, right out of the OTPOR/CANVAS playbook: Gene Sharp’s From Dictatorship to Democracy.
Watch this important documentary film concerning OTPOR and the US managed, controlled opposition we have seen throughout the Middle East, which we are now seeing in the US with Occupy Wall Street and Stop The Machine!: The Revolution Business.
The rhetoric of Stop The Machine – nonviolence – is right out of the OTPOR playbook, and although this groups attempts to identify itself with Dr King’s and his Gandhian method of nonviolence, Stop The Machine! goes out of its way to instigate trouble, as per the OTPOR/CANVAS playbook, which was certainly not Dr King’s methodology of nonviolence. In short, this group is attempting to hijack Dr King’s philosophy of love and brotherhood and re-brand it as hatred and division.
See this OTPOR agent provocateur attempting to steer Occupy Wall Street toward violence, while denying to be doing so, and laying out the “inevitable” violence and military intervention which she expects/plans to occur: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cignRBzzQWo

“Mr. Maher and his colleagues began reading about nonviolent struggles. They were especially drawn to a Serbian youth movement called Otpor, which had helped topple the dictator Slobodan Milosevic by drawing on the ideas of an American political thinker, Gene Sharp. The hallmark of Mr. Sharp’s work is well-tailored to Mr. Mubark’s Egypt: He argues that nonviolence is a singularly effective way to undermine police states that might cite violent resistance to justify repression in the name of stability.”
“The April 6 Youth Movement modeled its logo — a vaguely Soviet looking red and white clenched fist—after Otpor’s, and some of its members traveled to Serbia to meet with Otpor activists.” Source: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/02/14/world/middleeast/14egypt-tunisia-protests.html?_r=1&pagewanted=all
“A message for the elites: THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING. LISTEN TO US NOW OR THE PRICE OF CHANGE WILL GET MORE EXPENSIVE FOR YOU: What do we seek? We seek an end to corporate rule and shifting power to the people.” ~ Kevin Zeese, Organizer of the Freedom Plaza Occupation, www.OccupyWashingtonDC.org. (See quote here.)
