October2011.org News: Stop Profiteering from Planetary Destruction and Human Suffering. One Week, Two Actions
Witness Against Torture reports that more than half of the 166 men in the prison have been cleared for release, with no charges of terrorism or any crime, but they wait, lingering while the callous and dysfunctional U.S. government ignores their basic human rights. These prisoners choose to resist after 11 years of indefinite detention with no end to their suffering in sight in a “piece of hell that kills everything” as one now dead prisoner described the prison. Don’t let their action go unnoticed – call the White House, write letters to the editor, organize a visibility action.

Order and Security? or Chaos and Fear?
The current hype concerning gun control is for a reason: our government KNOWS people living in rural areas will NEVER give up their guns, and doesn’t want them to give up their guns. So why the hype? Because our government wants people living in rural areas to SHOOT the cops and soldiers who will soon be coming to take away their guns. Our government wants chaos and killing, not order and peace… Continue reading

October marks the one year anniversary of the Occupation of Freedom Plaza!
There is a lot going on and much still to do, but remember that Occupy is making a difference by standing up and by joining in solidarity with others who stand up. We are all connected and we are all connected to this global movement for justice! Continue reading

“Why Would American Politicians Support the MEK?”
Just stoking fears of war can get money flowing, from studies to retrofitting naval vessels. Bombing would be better, as even something as small as the Libyan war involved spending more than a billion dollars. But full-on war, that’s the mother lode. An invasion followed by an Iraq-style lingering occupation and reconstruction would open up hundreds of billions and possibly even trillions of taxpayer dollars for the grabbing. Hopefully these Treasury Department investigations are a sign that the Obama Administration has finally decided to rein in the warmongers…. Continue reading

The REAL Facebook/Twitter Revolution is NOT being televised
If you do a little research, and you get behind the talking points of the mainstream media, you will discover that these so-called Facebook/Twitter “revolutions” are anything but spontaneous. In fact, if you attempt, as I have been doing, to start a TRUE grassroots movement for peace, justice, and truth, it’s actually VERY HARD to do.

Occupy Washington DC/Stop The Machine! (Freedom Plaza) and Otpor/CANVAS
[They] are inserting themselves wherever they can in the OWS movement. In DC, this is particularly worrisome, since the think-tank/lobbying/pro-USG logic is so…. Continue reading
