Technology, propaganda, and Jaques Ellul

“In the midst of increasing mechanization and technological organization, propaganda is simply the means used to prevent these things from being felt as too oppressive and to persuade man to submit with good grace. When man will be fully adapted to this technological society, when he will end by obeying with enthusiasm, convinced of the excellence of what he is forced to do, the constraint of the organization will no longer be felt by him; the truth is, it will no longer be a constraint, and the police will have nothing to do. The civic and technological good will and the enthusiasm for the right social myths — both created by propaganda — will finally have solved the problem of man.” ~ Jaques Ellul Continue reading

NSA domestic spying = old news

“It took me a few days to work up the nerve to phone William Binney. As someone already a “target” of the United States government, I found it difficult not to worry about the chain of unintended consequences I might unleash by calling Mr. Binney, a 32-year veteran of the National Security Agency turned whistle-blower. He picked up. I nervously explained I was a documentary filmmaker and wanted to speak to him. To my surprise he replied: “I’m tired of my government harassing me and violating the Constitution. Yes, I’ll talk to you.” Continue reading

The Noble Lies – OK City and 9/11

The Noble Lie is necessary, Plato argues, in order to keep a stable social structure. In Plato’s mind The Noble Lie is a lie that’s fed to the masses to keep them under control and happy with their situation in life.

Plato did not believe most people were smart enough to look after their own and society’s best interest. The few smart people of the world needed to lead the rest of the flock, Plato said. And The Noble Lie had to continue. Continue reading

John McCain, Lindsey Graham, John Kerry, and Barack Obama fund, arm, and train al Qaeda and its associates in Syria

“Happily for the busy lunatics who rule over us, we are permanently the United States of Amnesia. We learn nothing because we remember nothing.” ~ Gore Vidal

“It should by now be generally accepted that the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan on Christmas Eve 1979 was deliberately provoked by the United States. In his memoir published in 1996, the former CIA director Robert Gates made it clear that the American intelligence services began to aid the mujahideen guerrillas not after the Soviet invasion, but six months before it. In an interview two years later with Le Nouvel Observateur, President Carter’s national security advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski proudly confirmed Gate’s assertions. “According to the official version of history,” Brzezinski said, “CIA aid to the mujahideen began during 1980, that’s to say, after the Soviet army invaded Afghanistan. But the reality, kept secret until now, is completely different: on 3 July 1979 President Carter signed the first directive for secret aid to the opponents of the pro-Soviet regime in Kabul. And on the same day I wrote a note to the president in which I explained that in mu opinion this aid would lead to a Soviet military intervention.” ~ Chalmers Johnson Continue reading

A superior culture cannot permit its foundations to be poisoned and destroyed

We have choices to make: Will we serve God or Satan? Will we choose Life or Death? Will we choose Liberty or Libertinism? Will we choose Law or Chaos? Will we choose Peace or War? Continue reading

Kokesh the Krooked Kointelpro Kon

Listen after 12:45. The interviewer brings up the possibility (=reality) Kokesh is a paid provocateur leading gullible gun owners to slaughter. To this charge Kokesh can only answer: “If that were the case I would hope I was being paid better.” Is this the type of response an honest person would give to such a charge? And, since he admits, here, to being paid, who is paying Kokesh, and why? Enquiring minds want to know… Continue reading

The DSM – Psychology and Psychiatry’s Subjective Sinking Ship

“Unlike our definitions of ischemic heart disease, lymphoma, or AIDS, the DSM diagnoses are based on a consensus about clusters of clinical symptoms, not any objective laboratory measure. In the rest of medicine, this would be equivalent to creating diagnostic systems based on the nature of chest pain or the quality of fever. Indeed, symptom-based diagnosis, once common in other areas of medicine, has been largely replaced in the past half century as we have understood that symptoms alone rarely indicate the best choice of treatment.” Continue reading
